To officially say “I do” and be married in Oregon, all it takes is an officiant, (we have a few to choose from), a marriage license, and your two witnesses; requirements per state may vary. We have been imaginative and resourceful, and now offer a few “Civil type” ceremonies to choose from, so the two of you along with your two witnesses can legally tie the knot. Currently in Oregon during the Corona Virus Pandemic, other states may currently be similar, the County Marriage Clerk Offices are closed to the public, however they are offering phone and mail service to get your marriage documents to you. A civil ceremony doesn’t have to only be at the court house, we can have your “civil type” ceremony anywhere, and it can look however you’d like. We’ve created a few different options. Please visit our Creative “Civil Type” Marriage Ceremonies, to read more and see how we can help you during these times.
What Is a “Civil Type” Ceremony?
A civil ceremony is a nonreligious, legal marriage ceremony presided over by a government official. With that not being an option in States such as Oregon where we are based out of, we offer our own creative spin on these types of ceremonies.
It’s important to remember that even in these times of everything being shut down and the order of “Social Distancing,” your wedding can be whatever you want it to be, and we are here to work out creative ideas. Yours can be a totally intimate celebration with just your families, or a huge to-do. And, even though the “civil type,” ceremony will be smaller in size, it will be deeply intimate and meaningful. No matter what creative spin you put on it, with just the two of you or your most immediate family attending, give it as much attention and priority as a larger wedding.
You’ll want the moments documented so hire a photographer or enlist one of your witnesses to take the photo’s. Dress up for the occasion, and consider having a bouquet.
