Hand Fasting Marriage Ceremony

Handfasting symbolizes the binding of two lives. In the ritual, the couple’s hands are tied together with cords or ribbons as they face each other. Vows are typically exchanged as the hands are bound together.  The history and culture of Handfasting is worldwide, beginning with the first date documented in the year 7,000 BC

Handfasting is an ancient pre religious wedding ritual, that is highly symbolic and spiritual, often taking place outdoors with strong connections to nature. The heritage of this practice is estimated to date back to 7000 BC!  It remains symbolic and deeply meaningful to this today our in current modern times and is being integrated into both religious and non-religious ceremonies, in both legally binding and non-legally binding commitment ceremonies.

When you experience the ritual of Handfasting, it connects you with all couples who have gone before you in vowing their loving heartfelt commitments to one another, and if you think of it, you merge with them all, with similar intentions, desires, hopes, dreams and aspirations.

Culturally, handfasting has been documented to occur all over the world at different times in history.
